If you’re new to Reiki, or a little sceptical, you’re not alone. Much of the mystery comes simply from not knowing what Reiki actually is, so let me explain. Reiki is a Japanese energy healing practice, where the word commonly translated as “universal life force energy.” It is based on the belief that every living being has an energy field around them, often referred to as the aura, and that energy flows through the body via pathways known as chakras. When this energy feels blocked or out of balance, it is believed to affect how we feel physically, mentally and emotionally.
During a Reiki session, the practitioner uses gentle touch, or works just above the body, with the intention of supporting this natural flow of energy and encouraging relaxation, balance and wellbeing. Many people describe Reiki as calming, restorative and deeply relaxing. Reiki offers you a chance to slow down, quieten the mind and reconnect with yourself.

Reiki is for anyone who feels called to slow down, receive and take some time for themselves. You don’t need to have a particular belief system or previous experience with Reiki — simply being open and curious is enough.
Reiki could help you if you are experiencing any of the following...
Struggle to switch off and feel like you never fully rest
Feel emotionally drained or like you’ve been carrying a lot lately
Feel physically tense, tired or run down
Feel disconnected from yourself or not quite like your usual self
Are going through a difficult or uncertain time
Are curious about Reiki and want to experience it for yourself
Reiki is gentle, non-invasive and complementary to conventional healthcare. It is not intended to diagnose, treat or replace medical care, medication or professional medical advice. You don't have to believe in Reiki for your first experience — come with an open mind and see how it feels for you.

Your session begins with some time to settle in and talk about how you're feeling and anything you'd like me to be aware of before we begin. We'll make sure you're comfortable and answer any questions you may have. You'll remain fully clothed throughout the session and will usually lie comfortably on a treatment bed. If lying down isn't suitable or comfortable for you, we can discuss alternative positioning.
During the treatment, I'll use a series of gentle hand positions on or just above the body. You don't need to do anything or concentrate on anything. You can simply relax and allow yourself to experience the session. Some people become very relaxed or sleepy, while others remain more aware of their surroundings. You may notice warmth, tingling or other sensations, or you may simply enjoy the quiet and stillness. There is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki.
Afterwards, you'll have some time to gently come back into the room before continuing with your day.
People experience Reiki in different ways, and I don't promise a particular outcome from a session.
Some people may find Reiki:
Supports a deep state of relaxation by soothing the nervous system.
Supports stress and anxiety reduction.
Supports pain and fatigue management.
Supports improved sleep and mood.
Works with their energy field to balance and harmonise their aura and chakras.
Supports working with the subconscious mind, helping to release what no longer serves them.
Continues to integrate over the following hours and days after treatment.
Sometimes, the greatest benefit is simply giving yourself permission to pause, switch off and take some much needed time for yourself.

Thank you for the excellent service you provide. I am surprised out how good Reiki has made me feel. I was feeling so much discomfort with my arm and it is no longer an issue even months later. On an emotional level it has really opened my eyes to how important self care and healing is.
Thank you for all of your support, patience, understanding, encouragement. It would have been easy for you to have been judgemental to my issues. But you were thoroughly professional. My faith and confidence has been restored with human kind. I am now on the path to recovery.
I’m going to try and find the words to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are a wonderful, kind and selfless person. I came into this experience feeling hopeless and you’ve given me the knowledge to handle life a little bit better. I’m hoping this is not the end and just the beginning. So once again thank you so much.
Thank you so much for all of your help so far, you have changed my life. You have taught and inspired me so much to work towards being the best version of me. You truly are an amazing lady, I will continue to learn and look forward to unfolding more aspects of myself as time goes on. Thank you.
